    Alright, Kevin. Just a quick off topic comment. I don't know if you've ever noticed but some of the comments you start on some of my videos end up getting loads of other comments/replies and usually people wanting to correct me for my reply to you 🤣 It's mad, a few of our "conversations" have ended up being more entertaining and engaging than the videos 😆 It really surprises me just how many people want to be smart arses in the comments and try and teach the creator some kind of lesson. On that last gaming video there's obviously Apple FanBoys not being happy with what I said to you about performance. I find the whole thing bizarre, Warzone Mobile is my favourite game at the moment, I play it on the M4 iPad, iPhone 15 Pro max, S24 Ultra and now the RedMagic phone. You'd think that my opinion would count for something 🤣 Anyway, you're a f.....g trouble causer 🤣 Cheers, Dave.

    • @KevinMuldoon
      @KevinMuldoon 3 дня назад

      Haha that's my job. Drop by, cause anarchy and leave 😂😂😂😂 It's a bit of a stereotype, but Apple users are definitely more likely to be fan boys than Android users. I've had some crazy comments from people over the years who are annoyed that everything I said about Apole wasn't glowing; despite using some Apple products myself.

    • @TheGameThing
      @TheGameThing 2 дня назад

      @@KevinMuldoon Alright, Kevin. You anarchist 😆 Yes, I think you are right, there does seem to be more Apple FanBoys compared to Android ones. The thing that I don't understand at all, as you've also said, is that you are obviously using the stuff, so why would anyone have a problem with someone's real-world examples and observations of something that they clearly own and use? I'm also astounded by how many Apple users will give Apple a pass when they do something wrong. I'm bored to death reading peoples' excuses for Apple's screw-ups. I think the reason why your comments attract so much attention is because you're another RUclipsr who obviously knows what they are talking about and you ask "proper" questions or make "proper" observations bases on experience. So when you and I interact with the comments, they are proper discussions and as you know, most comments are just throw away one liners without any substance, or people not making any sense and many people who don't know what they are talking about. I also think that many readers feel threatened by obvious high levels of experience and understanding and don't want accept that someone else knows more than they do. Cheers, Dave.

    • @KevinMuldoon
      @KevinMuldoon 2 дня назад

      @TheGameThing There's definitely technical people who prefer Apple, iPhones and Macs, but I've also come across Apple users who say Apple is the best, without any sound argument as to why. Which is strange as there's many good reasons to like Apple. For example, privacy, security, updates etc. Trips to the Apple store are always fun. I'm sure many staff are knowledgeable, but so many are clueless about everything. iOS and Android are easy to use so for many people, they prefer what they're used to. I just find it strange that some people are so defensive about valid criticisms. As you note, many defend Apple even when they shouldn't. The battery debacle is a good example of that. Apple should have had more negative press about that. There are brands I like, but I don't have any real loyalty to them. Which is a good thing as most brands screw customers over in some way or another. For example, I used to like HTC phones, but my last HTC phone was their squeeze phone. It was actually a good feature, but after six months they rolled out an update that reduced my two day battery to a day at most. That happened overnight and they never rolled out another update. Incredibly disappointing as it forced me to sell it on. Samsung is another good example. I loved my fold 4 and their customer support was amazing when I had to return it for repair, but it should never have broken in the first place. The fact they're continually rolling out fold phones when there are major issues with the folding mechanism is a joke. They never acknowledged those issues publicly and were rolling out new versions when many were stuck with a broken one from the year before. When I posted about smartphones more frequently, I used to attract many knowledgeable users. People who knew much more about phones that I do. You make a good point. When others see a good discussion going, they're more likely to get involved. 👍👍👍 My comments are more random now, possibly because I've lost my regular subscribers from lack of activity.

      @Omari405 you're welcome. I haven't used the chat link pro myself but i know it was designed to be connected to the capture card (your 4K X). There are good tutorials online that explain it more. Such as this one ruclips.net/video/4WO0GRViBRU/видео.htmlsi=RtoBK2lqI7OYzral My understanding is that it can be integrated into OBS as a separate audio input. In theory, that means we should be able to imply that input into the bridge cast too. Though it's not something I've tested.

    Same problems. My reviews are objective and related to issues that are valid. I leave positive reviews on good products as well, but Amazon rejects about everything the last couple of years that is not positive. They have effectively rendered their review process worthless. I gave up on writing them. The price of this is that the quality of the sellers, as well as what is being sold on Amazon, is decreasing. I have sent back about 10% of what I have ordered in the last year due to it being sold as name brand or OEM, when they are in reality poorly packaged knockoffs. The only advantage, but it costs much of a buyer's time, is that it can be returned.

      Agreed. There needs to be an overhaul. I've noticed the standard of vine reviews have went down too. I recently purchased an iPad Pro case and the vine reviews had no pictures or videos. From what they wrote, it's clear that didn't have the new iPad Pro to actually test it with.

      I recommend downloading the Roland Bridge Cast manual at www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/bridge_cast/owners_manuals/ to learn more about connections. I'm not sure of the exact setup you are using. It sounds like the main connection is to your MacBook and you want to capture audio from your phone? The best way to do that is to connect your iPhone to the aux in port. As per the manual: "Connect this to your tablet, smartphone or similar device. This jack is compatible with four-conductor (TRRS) 3.5 mm mini plugs. When you use a four-conductor mini plug cable, you can input the audio from your smartphone and output the mic audio (mono mix) to your smartphone. With a three-conductor mini plug, only audio input is available." So you need get a cable that goes from your phone to the bridge cast using a TRRS connection into aux in.

      @jaylunn4119 Aux in is an input only, so that wouldn't work. The bridge cast does allow you to use an android phone, iPhone or iPad as the primary device. That is, instead of connecting to your MacBook. That does mean, of course, that everything is running through your phone now.

      @@KevinMuldoon In my country, there is no replacement/ physical damage policy for pencil. Do they offer that for pencil in UK? I always thought they don't offer it because the pencil is so easy to break down. My pencil lasted 8 days. I was using an esr silicon cover for pencil and esr case for ipad pro m2, the one with a flap for pencil. The silicon on pencil makes it too thick to stick properly. I opened the cover flap in a hurry, pencil fell down and it was done for. It lasted 4 days from its purchase to demise. Took it to apple and they said it is a non reparable item. It charges still but doesn't write. To me apple pencil is as good as made of glass. Next day I bought a Chinese pencil off of amazon for 1/5 the price and it is still working after 1.5 years, without any silicon cover and many many falls later (it has a minor crack from the falls but it still works perfectly). This said, I miss Apple pencil, its feel, weight balance and pressure sensitive writing were amazing. It felt premium.

    Alright, Kevin. I want to see you test out that 110lbs impact resistance 🤣 For the money you can’t go wrong and as you’ve said, there’s very little difference between these things across the various prices. As for the alignment, as long as it fits in the case, which it does, then that’s easily good enough. I always have a slightly larger gap on one side somewhere but it’s never enough to stop it from fitting in a case. Thanks for the shoutout 👍 BTW, I went and ordered something else yesterday but not while I was drunk 🤣 I’ve always fancied a Sony ZV-E10 but not as vlogging camera but as an overhead camera or something for closeups. I don’t know if you remember but a while back we were talking about the focus issues I was having with my ZV-1, which is what I use for my overhead and closeups. While it is good at auto focus I have to mostly use it in manual focus and keep resetting focus all the time when moving objects in the frame. I love the ZV1 as a locked off camera and its auto focus is great when you have a bit more distance to the subject but I really need something that will allow me to do one long take, even with retakes, but something that tracks the focus a bit better for the closeups and overheads. I’d much rather do a long single take with all the retakes in it and then just trim it down in post and speed up my workflow from multiple takes where I’m constantly resetting focus. I really like your workflow where you do your switching live but I could never be anywhere near as cohesive as you, I screw up too much with my dialogue, hence a lot of retakes. So one single take, with retakes, no refocusing and then just trim in post, is about as good as it would get for me. Anyway, I’m edging my bets that the ZV-E10 is going to give me that focus that I’m after. My main camera is my Sony FDR-AX100, which is the one that I use to talk to. This camera is now about 10 years old but is still a great little 4K camcorder. It has great auto focus for the overhead shots but because of its age and because I was putting to much wear and tear on it when changing its position all the time, I decided to leave it as my “piece to camera” camera and use something separate for the overhead etc. Anyway, Amazon had a flash sale thing where the ZV-E10 was £599 but with an extra £70 discount. So, at £530 for an E-Mount APSC with a lens, I thought it was time to pull the trigger. The kit lens isn’t very fast, it’s maximum is F3.5, whereas the ZV1 has a much faster max F1.8, so much brighter. However, just like you, I have a bunch of lights, so hopefully the kit lens will be OK. Plus, the kit lens is a 16-50mm (24mm equivalent) which is very useful for the overheads and closeups. Anyway, I get the ZV-E10 and the RedMagic 9 Pro today, so it’s going to be like Christmas 🤣 Cheers, Dave.

      Hi Dave. Yeah I'm happy with the screen protector the way it is. Unless the application is horrific, I'd always try and save the second screen protector for later. The ZV-E10 looks like a great camera. I've always been tempted to try it as I already use APS-C and full frame Sony lenses, so could easily use of my spare lenses on it. Like you, if I upgrade any camera next, it will be my overhead camera. I used the Sony RX10 for years and then switched to a Sony RX10 II a few years ago. I've always wanted to upgrade to the RX10 IV, but in starting to think a full frame setup would be more flexible. More expensive, but I think it would be better. I do love the RX10 series, but they are limited by their one inch sensor. Due to that, I need to crank my lights up more to ensure it looks ok, which results in it looking overblown and too bright. I used to think the auto focus was ok, but it hasn't aged well. This is one reason I wanted the Fourth version as that improved auto focus, but I'm still leaning towards a full frame solution at one point. I have the Sony A7C do I've started my full lens collection already. 👍 I can understand your frustration with setting the focus manually on your ZV1. I change to manual focus with my RX10 II sometimes due to the same problem and it's a real pain. My main camera is the Panasonic S1. That also has poor auto focus, but it's not a problem keeping it on manual focus as it's just fixed on me. With regards to my workflow. I do need to get back to doing things in one take. I've actually moved away from that to do it in segments to help me reduce the length of videos (if I can). In some situations, one long take is still better; but there are times when you need to go back and correct something (like you said, more chance to need up what you said). Looking forward to seeing how the EV10 looks. £530 for that kit is a bargain. Thanks Kevin

    Alright, Kevin. Yes, the term “bargain” is vey subjective when talking about a tablet that costs a grand 😂 Saying that, when buying something second hand that’s bought within a few weeks of release, you’re buying something that’s essentially brand new. So that £150 saving isn’t something to be sniffed at and as you said, that’s £150 worth of extras for your iPad 👍 While I can’t wait to see you do a review after some serious use, there’s a few things you mentioned immediately that I also noticed. While its weight etc. is impressive, as you said, there was nothing wrong with the size and weight of the previous ones. Plus, if they’d have kept the same size, there would have been way more battery life with the larger battery. Having now used it for a few weeks, I don’t like how thin it is. It doesn’t feel as substantial or as easy to hold as the previous ones and even in a case, it feels a bit too thin for me. One thing I’m absolutely positive about though, is that you will definitely be impressed with its ability to process, especially with graphics and gameplay is just insane for a mobile device. BTW and on a slight tangent. I got pissed the other night and ended up ordering a RedMagic 9 Pro 🤣 Apparently, it’s supposed be the most powerful Android device for gaming. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, just like all the current Android flagships, including the S24 Ultra. However, it has a load of gaming centric functions, including active cooling. It also has very specific options for it to be used as a desktop gaming device and it has a built in key mapper. While the key mapper supposedly works for mouse/keyboard (which I don’t use for gaming, as I’m useless with them) it also key maps for controllers as well. I was in two minds about getting it, as the next one is likely to be released in about 6 months, presumably with the next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. However, the price for the 12GB RAM 256GB storage version was only £579. Now I say “only” £579 because the same spec in an S24 Ultra is £1249, which is double the price. While you usually find deals on the S24 Ultra and never pay that full price and you usually get something thrown in as well (earbuds etc.). The RedMagic also had an offer of a “mystery” box containing “up to” £189 worth of gaming extras. It’ll be intersteing to see what “up to” means and I hopefully don’t get sent a £20 gaming mouse, that I’ll never use 🤣 None the less, I hope it’s as good as I imagine it will be. In which case I’ll probably be kicking myself that I didn’t get one on release. As you know, I’ve been using Samsung phones for my Android gaming for years now, especially with DeX, and I always use them as desktop gaming machines with a PC monitor and controller. While it doesn’t have anything as powerful as DeX, it does have what looks like a really good UI for external monitoring, which is all specially designed for gaming. Or maybe I finally learn the lesson of not getting pissed and looking at cool tech gadgets on the Internet in the middle of night 🤣 Anyway, I thought it would be worth the punt, as it does seem to fit in with the way I use mobile gaming devices and for the specs, it is cheap. Even if it works out that it’s not quite what I expected, as far as external monitoring etc. is concerned. It is already known as probably the best Android “handheld” gaming phone/device and shouldn’t be too hard to sell. Keep an eye on my gaming channel 👍 Cheers, Dave.

      Hi Dave. In hindsight, I probably should have just bought it on launch day, but I was still swaying between the Samsunt Tab S9 and an iPad Pro. Also considered the pro Xiaomi tablet. What put me off both android tablets is that their used prices were poor on eBay. That's great when buying used, but the Tab S9 was about the same price as an M2 iPad Pro. So my attention swung to that. I had my mind set on paying around £550 to £600 for an M2 iPad Pro, but I splurged when I saw that listed. I paid £862.50 and I suspect I'd still get around £550 to £600 in two years. Like you, the thinness doesn't appeal to me. It just feels too delicate and slippy in the hand, which is why I want to add a little bulk with a case. Looking forward to seeing your review of the Redmagic 9 Pro. Drunk tech purchases are the best. I've made some questionable bids on eBay whilst coming back from the pub. I've been very tempted with them for years, but held back as their cameras were never great then. I was just looking at the info page for the Redmagic 9 Pro and it looks like a beast. Some of the accessories are pretty cool too. Whilst the S24 Ultra is obviously a top phone, the Redmagic looks more fun. I'll be sure to check out your videos of it. With regards to selling on, yes you will lose a little, but not as much as you would with a Samsung phone. Samsung phones are priced like iPhones but depreciate much quicker. Cheers. Kevin
